What is Carrot?
Carrot is a fertility, family-building, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting benefit offered through participating employers and benefit plans. Depending on your individual Carrot plan, your benefits may provide access to eligible pregnancy and postpartum services, including doula support.
Carrot benefits are personalized, which means the services available and the amount of financial support provided can vary based on your employer or benefit plan. Carrot members can access information about their individual benefits through the Carrot member platform or app.
How to Use Your Carrot Benefits with Birth Foundations Wellness
1. Log in to your Carrot account.
Visit your Carrot member account or open the Carrot app to review the benefits available to you.
2. Confirm your doula benefit.
Contact Carrot through your member account and ask whether birth and/or postpartum doula services are eligible under your specific plan.
3. Connect with Birth Foundations Wellness.
Once you understand your benefit, contact us to schedule a consultation and discuss the birth or postpartum support that best fits your family's needs.
4. Follow Carrot's payment instructions.
Carrot will provide instructions specific to your benefit regarding eligible services, payment, the Carrot Card when applicable, reimbursement, and any documentation that may be required.

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) allow individuals to set aside pre-tax funds to help pay for certain qualified healthcare expenses. Depending on your individual plan and circumstances, some birth and postpartum support services may qualify for payment using HSA or FSA funds.

Check your HSA or FSA plan information to determine whether doula or related pregnancy and postpartum services are considered eligible expenses.
2. Contact your plan administrator if needed.

How Payment Plans Work

During your consultation, let us know if you would like to explore a payment plan.
3. Agree on a schedule.
We will establish a payment schedule that works within the terms of your selected service agreement.
4. Secure your services.
Once the required reserve fee or initial payment is received, your services can be reserved according to the terms of your contract.
